A quiet map, loud with trust.
Viota Space started with a simple frustration: land deals done on WhatsApp, house hunts done on Instagram, shops leased on the corner of a road. All of it invisible, none of it searchable.
We built Viota for Tanzania — ward by ward, district by district. Because “near Mikocheni” means something different to a Dar local than a search engine in California. A real map should know the difference.
We’re a small team based in Dar es Salaam. We don’t take commission, we don’t broker deals, and we don’t sell your data. We’re a local-first listings platform — and that’s the whole point.
- Local-first
- Built for Dar, not imported.
- No commission
- You deal, we don’t skim.
- Moderated
- Humans review every report.
What gets verified
Anyone can browse Viota. To publish a listing you become a verified provider — so every property on the map carries a real, accountable face behind it.
1. Submit your application
Government ID, a live selfie, and — for agencies and developers — your business name, TIN and licence. Individuals and property owners verify with ID alone.
2. We review within 48 hours
A human checks your documents. If something is unclear we ask for a re-upload; we never silently reject.
3. You go live on the map
Once approved your tier becomes verified and you can publish listings, pinned to the exact ward, alongside Tanzania’s established providers.
Admin-approved. Publishes listings across all categories.
Verified, plus off-plan projects and homepage placement.
Provider FAQ
Is it free to list?
Yes. Listing and responding to inquiries is free — we don’t take a commission on any deal. Premium tools for high-volume sellers exist, but the core marketplace stays free.
How long does verification take?
We aim to review every application within 48 hours. If your documents are unclear we’ll ask for a re-upload rather than reject outright.
What if my application is rejected?
It depends on why. Unclear documents or invalid business info — fix and re-apply immediately. An identity mismatch carries a short cooldown. We always tell you the reason.
How do I get more inquiries?
Post clear photos, drop an accurate pin, and keep your price current. Providers who reply within an hour rank higher in ward searches; zero abuse reports does the rest.
What happens if someone reports my listing?
The listing is hidden from public search immediately. Our team reviews within 24 hours and either reinstates or removes it — and notifies both sides of the decision.
