What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the app:
- Your name, email and profile photo — via Google sign-in
- Your approximate location — to match you to ward-level listings
- Listings you post, inquiries you send, reports you file
- Basic device info (model, OS version) for crash diagnostics
We do not collect contacts, photos outside the app, SMS, or call logs.
How we use it
Your data powers three things, and nothing else:
- Matching — placing pins in the right ward, ranking listings near you
- Safety — reviewing abuse reports, suspending bad actors
- Improvement — aggregate signals like “which wards lack 2BRs” inform outreach
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone. Ever.
Location data
We ask for location for two reasons: to show listings near you, and to tag your own posts to the correct ward. You can deny permission — the app still works, you just search by typing a ward name.
Precise coordinates are never shown to other users. We store the boundary identifier (ward, district, region) for listings — not the raw GPS point for people.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Export everything we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your account and all associated data (within 30 days)
- Opt out of notifications and analytics

Security
Our backend is Appwrite Pro. All connections are TLS-encrypted. We never store passwords — Google OAuth handles authentication. Every engineer with data access is background-checked and all queries are audit-logged.
Children
Viota Space is not for users under 16. If you believe a minor has signed up, email us and we’ll remove the account.
